Overview

As part of the Investment Bank Regulatory & Cross-Product Technology Group, the Client Party Data system is central to the Banks strategy of increasing the quality of client reference data and the desire to operate a class leading perpetual Know-Your-Client process.

We are a global team of over 200 engineers and over 30 Production engineers working together to re-engineer the client Party Data system to enable efficient scaling, enhanced resilience, improved throughput and fewer manual touch points using Java/kotlin micro services running under Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform in conjunction with Kafka streaming and message delivery with an oracle/MongoDB database backend. You will also be familiar with Pega workflows to support existing functionality.

You will be an integral part of an agile production engineering delivery team - focusing on meeting regulatory deadlines, providing L2/L3 level support functions, continuous improvement of existing operational services and procedures and creating elegant solutions to help reduce manual toil as part of continuous improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot complex issues, being aware of overlapping and different technology areas.

  • Provide technical direction on all related IT platforms and are considered hands-on technical experts for level 3 support in outage coordination and resolution

  • Acquire business knowledge, so can identify where Information Technology (IT) designs can be strengthened and provide value to the Businesses

  • Responsible for providing detailed technical feedback into the Engineering function to deliver more robust IT solutions

  • Understand in detail, how IT needs to be supported and can create appropriate processes and controls which ensure IT failings are captured and remediated to ensure stability

  • Embrace a Continuous Service Improvement approach to drive efficiencies and remove repetition to streamline support activities, reduce risk, manual toil and improve system availability

Skills You'll Need

  • In-depth experience with Unix Technologies and Tools: RedHat/SuSe Linux, Bash, Ksh, Java and Systems Administration skills

  • Extensive experience and highly proficient with providing advanced Service Level 3 support

  • Experience in the following technology areas are preferred Java technology (JSP, servlets, EJB), SOAP & web services, XML, JSON, Oracle/Mongo Database and SQL queries, Google Cloud Platform and microservices, Database Performance, Middleware (kafka), MQ, JMS, Platforms: Unix, Linux , Pega Systems, New Relic and Geneos

  • Experience managing production outages and trouble shooting incidents

  • Experience and Education Masters Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in an IT-related discipline (or equivalent diploma/work experience)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Excellent analytical skills in providing advanced L3 level support

  • Self-motivator and pro-active in 'getting things done'

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,00 to $153,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
