About the Position:

Join Citizens First Bank's Mortgage Department as our new Mortgage Processor! The Mortgage Processor plays a crucial role in reviewing loans and preparing files for submission to the Underwriter for approval. The Mortgage Processor provides vital support to Mortgage Loan Officers with clerical tasks, adjusted to the loan volume and the Processor's experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Mortgage Processor:



  • Follow up within 72 hours of mailing disclosures to check on the return timeline for signed documents.
  • Review, scan, and organize the signed initial disclosure package in the electronic filing cabinet.
  • Address any questions about documents and assist with the E-Consent process as needed.
  • Analyze income and asset verifications, updating the loan origination system and organizing supporting documents.
  • Meet regularly with the Mortgage Loan Officer to review the pipeline.
  • Submit the mortgage loan application for final underwriting approval.
  • Provide clerical support to the Mortgage Loan Officer, including appointment scheduling and other administrative tasks


Mortgage Processor Requirements:

Minimum:



  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have computer experience and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and able to learn different software applications as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions and percentages.
  • Training and progression may increase the analysis function of the role over time.


Preferred:



  • One-two years of experience in a mortgage setting and basic knowledge of Fannie Mae (FNMA) guidelines and Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
