Position Overview


Position Summary
Winston-Salem State University is seeking two detail-oriented and student-focused Student Records and Registration Specialists to join the Office of the Registrar. These positions supports essential academic and enrollment operations by delivering professional student services related to registration, academic records, and compliance-driven reporting. Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Student Records and Data Management: Maintains the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of official student academic records, including biographical and demographic data, using Ellucian Banner and related systems in accordance with FERPA and institutional policy.

  • Registration and Enrollment Processing: Processes registration transactions to support student progression and enrollment accuracy.

  • Transcript and Verification Services: Manages transcript requests, enrollment verifications, and degree verifications using Parchment and the National Student Clearinghouse.

  • Customer Service and Front-Line Support: Provides high-quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external constituents via phone, email, and in person, while interpreting academic policies and FERPA regulations.

  • Compliance and Operational Support: Assists with records audits, enrollment and degree reporting, and operational support during peak academic periods to ensure institutional compliance and service continuity.

Normal Work Schedule
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 9:00 am - 6:00 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Some evenings and weekends are required during peak times, as well as for recruitment and yield events.
