Provides strategic guidance on compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. Oversees critical and strategic projects that have increased leadership visibility. Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and programs in response to evolving regulations and industry best practices.
Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in Safety, Human Science, Logistics/Transportation, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field is required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a high school diploma or GED plus four (4) years of relevant experience in Safety, Human Science, Logistics/Transportation, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field may be accepted, in addition to the minimum experience requirements outlined below. Master's degree preferred. Minimum Experience:Seven (7) years of experience in Industrial/Occupational Safety, Commercial Truck Fleet Vehicle Safety, Logistics/Transportation, Surface Operations Safety, Network Operations Safety, or Air Operations Safety is required. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in institutional or corporate communications with an emphasis on communication planning/analysis and exposure to print and non-print media strategies. Ability to study complex data and broad business strategy and convert into practical, creative and effective communication strategies. Highly proficient analytical, problem-solving, organization, creativity, grammar, writing and human relations/relation management skills.
