Job Description

Role:

  • As a Procurement Manager, you will drive strategic alignment with Brightspeed's business goals, owning end-to-end category strategy development, supplier performance management, and contract negotiation. You will serve as a thought leader in procurement, utilizing your advanced expertise to deliver innovative solutions while influencing cross-functional teams to achieve impactful outcomes.
  • This role requires exceptional strategic thinking, sharp analytical skills, and a proactive work ethic. You will lead initiatives that build lasting supplier relationships, enhance procurement efficiency, and align with long-term organizational objectives.

Impact:

As a Procurement Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Sourcing

  • Provide subject matter expertise for procurement initiatives, including construction and professional service agreements,
  • Analyze market trends (cost benchmarking, new suppliers, macroeconomic factors) to develop forward-looking, strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Build robust partnerships with business units.

RFx Management and Supplier Negotiations

  • Lead the RFx process from start to finish, including requirements gathering, supplier communications, comprehensive total cost of ownership analysis, and supplier scoring.
  • Formulate and manage "best and final offer" (BAFO) requests, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee supplier negotiations, supporting legal positions and finalizing contracts.

Contract Management and Alignment

  • Draft, redline, and manage contract documentation, including MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and schedules, ensuring all contractual terms align with company goals.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, BU stakeholders, and matrix organizations (e.g., security, compliance) to build consensus and finalize contracts.
  • Clear understanding of how legal terms interplay with requirements to develop best in class MSAs and SOWs.

Performance Optimization and Innovation

  • Implement supplier performance reviews, focusing on opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and streamlining current procurement processes to enhance operational outcomes.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead alignment efforts with business unit stakeholders to ensure procurement initiatives support organizational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, fostering strategic partnerships and driving impactful outcomes.
Qualifications

You will thrive in this role if you:

Experience

  • 7+ years of procurement experience, including leadership in contract negotiations and category management.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledge of:
    • Construction agreements
    • Professional services agreements.
    • SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass.
  • Strong proficiency in contract management systems, data analysis, and strategic sourcing processes.

Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail in drafting and reviewing contracts.
  • Exceptional communication skills-written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, especially during quarter-end and year-end cycles.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
