JOB SUMMARY |
The Field Service Technician - LTC will be expected to travel throughout the USA. This role will work within the team to execute mechanical/electrical tasks in direct support of completing field service projects on equipment utilized in Power Transmission, Distribution, and Generation. This role will participate in the installation, maintenance and or repair of electrical equipment following defined procedures and industry standards. Marketing companies' capabilities for future opportunities. This role must independently troubleshoot and analyze technical requirements and have the ability to compose Field Reports. |
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Receive assignments and instructions from lead and manager - both verbal and written.
- Read, understand, and follow guidelines set forth Company procedures, and blueprints when performing assigned work.
- LTC Repair & Maintenance Responsibilities
- Maintain the required clearances and dimensions for the voltage classifications specified.
- Advanced knowledge/troubleshooting experience of electrical testing/theory.
- Advanced knowledge/troubleshooting experience of controls.
- Advanced knowledge/troubleshooting experience of oil processing.
- Understand and interpret blueprints.
- Composes Field Reports (Daily Activity reports, etc.) and any other job site, customer specific reports to management/customer in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
- Advanced repair and maintenance expertise in a minimum of 3 manufacturer types of Load Tap Changers.
- Operational verification for all internal circuit breaker controls and alarms.
- Verification of current transformer (CT) wiring ratio and polarity from the CT to the relays.
- Simulation and verification of all potential devices wiring CCVT's and PT's from the potential device to the relay or instrument connected to such devices.
- Verification of all systems associated with power transformers (load tap changers (LTC's), fans, pumps, alarms, sudden pressure relays, controls).
- Operational verification of electrical or mechanical safety interlock systems.
- Mark up of project drawings to reflect as built/modified conditions includes as required: cable diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams.
- Circuit tracing and verification.
- Additional activities on an as required basis such as but not limited to:
- Electrical tests (Hi-pot, Doble, TTR, Ductor, Megger)

| EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Required Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 years of industry specific work experience, or advanced post-high school level education
- Utility experience
- Report writing experience
- Valid Driver's License (No points in the last 3 years)

Key Working Relationships Works with other departments: Components, Sales/Marketing, transformer plants-Goldsboro, Waukesha Communicates with customers and managers who may have inquiries about aspects of the job which entails the exchange of accurate information and quick decisions in these situations. Physical Demands Estimated hours for this position are 60 hours a week Ability to remain in a standing position 90% of the time. Ability to travel 95% of the time to different job sites throughout the region. Travel by vehicle and plane. Ability to operate heavy machinery, climb, and work at heights Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 lbs. Working Conditions This is a non-controlled environment in terms of climate - subject to weather at jobsite location |
