Description
Position Summary

Responsible for performing computer-related processes. Accurately performs and verifies data entry functions and produces required reports and records. Loads and operates computers and peripheral equipment and ensures that computer functions run smoothly. Maintains activity logs and perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Intakes user requests, diagnoses the problem and assists users with network access and resolving connection problems. Monitors network utilization and security systems. Provides technical support to end users and effectively answers questions. Notifies manager of significant problems and recurring errors on workstation hardware and software. Frequent and local travel to multiple office locations required.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt and effective user support services, ensuring end users receive timely assistance with network and computer-related issues.


  • Supports users in accessing network resources and offers phone, email, and in-person assistance to end users.
  • Receives and addresses ticket work orders, ensuring all required documentation is completed to facilitate the closure of outstanding work orders.
  • Installs and maintains network and user software, ensuring that all applications are up-to-date and compatible with organizational systems.
  • Designs and implements workstation operating system configurations-including security settings, software installations, and user access controls-to ensure optimal performance, security compliance, and user productivity.
  • Configures and deploys new or recycled workstations to end users.
  • Configures and deploys new or recycled mobile devices to end users.
  • Investigates and resolves problems with hardware and software. Maintains an activity log of problems, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for action. Keeps users informed of the status of their requests.
  • Reviews workstation usage, maintenance, and error report logs to make informed decisions regarding whether to replace or refurbish workstations, taking into account factors such as performance issues, equipment age, and frequency of repairs.
  • Provides training for end users on installed and network software.
  • Ensures effective security systems are in place to protect network data.


  • Replaces and/or provides preventative maintenance for dysfunctional computer parts.


  • Contacts vendors and arranges for upgrades, updates, patches and replacements on software and hardware products.
  • Analyzes problems and provides technical assistance to solve them. Corrects routine operating problems by entering alternative or corrected operating commands.
  • Maintains regular contact with all department leaders to obtain information and to correct errors in network operations.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
