Fall 2026 Control Systems Engineering Internship/Co-Op

Location: Parsippany, NJ, On-Site

Term: Fall 2026

We are seeking enthusiastic students to join our Fall 2026 engineering internship/co-op program. Interns will have the opportunity to experience a comprehensive learning experience, combining hands-on work, mentorship, and professional development. Interns will apply their knowledge and grow their skills while working closely with Marotta team members to complete a project with the unique opportunity to present their project and internship experience to senior leadership. Interns also have the opportunity to network with other interns and employees through optional engagement and voluntary events.


Our internship program is available with various engineering teams across the company, including design, manufacturing, operations, and systems.


Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities :

Analyze and perform control system simulations and modeling in MATLAB.

Perform and complete SDRLs and other documents regarding System modeling, Plans, and other related systems engineering deliverables.

Requirements management utilizing IBM DOORS

Ensure accuracy of engineering SDRLs by review and commenting.

Communicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to appropriate personnel when applicable.

Manage all duties according to company and industry standards.

Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks beginning in June 2025.


Minimum Required Qualifications :

Currently enrolled in an engineering program.

Experience with Matlab Simulink modeling and simulation is preferred.

Experience in mechanical, electrical, software or applicable systems engineering is preferred

Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization

Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.

Must be a US Citizen.

Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree or graduate program by the start of employment.


Preferred Additional Qualifications :

Brushless DC motor experience is a plus.

Knowledge in electromechanical systems design is preferred.


Physical Requirements :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.

The Systems Engineer is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel

The employee is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.

The Systems Engineer may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary


Position location: Parsippany, NJ

Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hour

Relocation assistance will not be provided.
