About the Program

Join Marotta Controls' Engineering internship/Co-Op Program and take your classroom knowledge into the real world of aerospace and defense. As part of the Test Equipment Engineering Co-Op, you'll gain hands-on experience in software and hardware engineering disciplines while working alongside industry experts. You'll have a chance to apply software and hardware engineering principles to real projects, receive mentorship, and present your work to senior leadership at the end of your co-op. Along the way, you'll also network with other interns and employees through professional development and engagement events. Internships are available with a variety of teams across the Power and Actuation Business Unit, design, production, quality, or test/development engineering.


What You'll Do


  • Work on the design of Control Actuation System Emulators (Hardware, Software and Firmware).
  • Participate in fixture design, troubleshooting, and validations.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Test Station Software (GUI, Instrument Drivers and Database backend work).
  • Contribute to design reviews and product improvement initiatives.



What We're Looking For


  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering program.
  • Strong GPA and excellent grades in core engineering courses.
  • Proficiency in C#, Orcad (or any other PCB design software), SQL Database experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, precise, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Availability to work full-time onsite beginning September 2026 through the end of December 2026.



Work Environment:

This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).


Physical Requirements:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hour

Relocation assistance will not be provided.
