Job Summary

The 2026 Engineering Intern will be responsible for completing all onboarding activities and providing feedback for process improvements. Onboarding will include training in Alcami policies and procedures as well as best practices for working in a regulated environment. The Intern will work across sites and departments to complete a variety of tasks related to Engineering operations within the pharmaceutical industry.



On-Site Expectations

    100% on-site position.
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.


Responsibilities

  • Commissioning and generating drawings for select utility systems
  • Manage small capital projects at Wilmington as requested (build budget, scope, schedule through project implementation).
  • Review and enhance applicable assigned facility programs (i.e. pest control, security, etc)
  • Revise water damage mitigation plans for select North Carolina locations.
  • Complete 5S projects at local sites.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in a field related to the internship.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.
  • Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.
  • Awareness or prior work experience in a GMP environment preferred.
  • Willingness to collaborate with other team members.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Follows all safety policies and leads by example a safety-first culture.
  • Produces high quality work products with a focus on first time right.
  • Complies with the company code of conduct, policies, and regulatory standards.


Travel Expectations

  • Minimal travel between local locations may be expected.

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for specific job duties to be performed. Such personal protective equipment may include, but not limited to safety eyewear, various types of respirators/breathing apparatus, lab coats, full protective body coverings, various types of gloves, etc.
