Description

The Director of Enterprise Applications leads the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the company's enterprise application portfolio across ERP, CRM, field operations, and integration platforms. This role partners with business and technology leaders to deliver scalable, secure solutions that drive operational excellence, automation, data quality, and M&A integration while ensuring reliable day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and People Management



  • Lead, develop, and coach multiple Enterprise Applications managers across ERP, CRM, Field Ops, Integration, and ancillary platforms.


  • Set clear priorities, create accountability, and build a results-driven culture focused on delivery, quality, and reliability.


  • Align team structures, roles, and workload to meet roadmap commitments and ongoing operational needs.


  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure applications support business growth, M&A integration, operational efficiency and automation.


  • Stay up to date on key platform vendor updates, roadmap items and determine which capabilities to adopt into our solution architecture to support operational excellence.


Enterprise Solution Architecture



  • Serve as the senior solution architect for the enterprise application landscape, including Salesforce, NetSuite, ServiceMax, Wrike, Atlas, Box, and integration layers.


  • Define end-to-end solution designs that balance business needs with scalability, performance, and security, leverage existing platform investments, and ensure governed data flows into the enterprise data warehouse for analytics.


  • Establish design standards, patterns, and governance for application development, configuration, DevOps, SecOps, and integration.


  • Review and approve architecture decisions, ensuring alignment to long-term strategy and technical roadmap.


Roadmap Execution & Program Delivery



  • Partner closely with the CTO and VP of Tech Enablement to translate the enterprise technology roadmap into executable programs with clear timelines, scope, and success metrics.


  • Oversee delivery of high-priority, non-negotiable initiatives across ERP/CRM modernization, automation, platform consolidation, data quality, and M&A integration.


  • Drive cross-platform planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation to ensure on-time delivery.


  • Remove barriers, escalate issues early, and allocate resources to keep mission-critical work moving.


Enterprise Application Governance



  • Own and enforce standards for change management, release management, documentation, and QA across all enterprise apps.


  • Establish application lifecycle management (ALM) practices and ensure systems remain stable, secure, and compliant.


  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and performance for major platforms and development partners.


Business Partnership & Strategy



  • Act as a strategic partner to business units, understanding their processes and translating needs into scalable technology solutions.


  • Influence senior leaders by presenting clear options, tradeoffs, and data-driven recommendations.


  • Support business transformation initiatives, operational efficiency goals, and data-driven decision-making.


  • Ensure business partners are aware of new platform features, including AI, and have a structured process to pilot and deploy automation that delivers operational excellence.


Operational Excellence



  • Ensure enterprise applications achieve high availability, performance, and reliability.


  • Work with Business partners to automate manual processes to achieve efficiency goals using the right tools for the job.


  • Oversee incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.


  • Build dashboards and KPIs for system health, support metrics, and roadmap progress.


M&A Technology Integration



  • Lead integration of newly acquired companies into the enterprise application ecosystem with minimal disruption.


  • Define application strategy, data migration approach, and system consolidation plans for each acquisition.


  • Partner with the BI, Data, and Quality teams to ensure clean, accurate, and unified data across platforms.


Financial & Resource Management



  • Manage application budgets, licenses, vendor spend, and resource forecasting.


  • Prioritize investments and propose cost-efficient solutions without compromising quality or strategic priorities.
