Are you an experienced Caseworker or Caseworker Supervisor looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a thriving community? Look no further! New Hanover County is actively seeking a detail oriented, customer focused Caseworker Supervisor for our dynamic Economic Services Department and play a vital role in serving the citizens of our County.
Essential duties include supervising a unit of caseworkers within the
Customer Experience Team responsible for interviewing clients, determining eligibility, and initiating case actions for Food and Nutrition Services and other economic assistance programs, including address and employment changes. This supervisor also assigns, prioritizes, and reviews work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and equitable distribution of caseloads; trains staff; conducts performance evaluations; and makes recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, and termination. Interprets and implements federal, state, and county program policies and procedures; responds to staff inquiries; updates internal guidance; and reviews cases and hearing packets for accuracy and compliance.

Hours:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Rotating 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, certain Tuesdays
Must be available to report for emergency work assignments during emergency situations.
Salary Information:
The
hiring range
for this position is
$53,668 - $72,451.
Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.
Bilingual candidates are eligible for a differential (5%) when performing Spanish language interpretation during the course of work.

Qualifications
-
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of universal, economic services or income maintenance caseworker experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the specific position as listed above.
- Proficiency in the use of computers, dealing with a high level of public contact and knowledge of community resources

- Knowledge of several economic services programs and their eligibility policies
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
