DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the engineering function across the Westlake Pipe and Fittings business, including safety improvements, capacity increases, equipment upgrades, process redesign and capital management (CapEx).
- Work with beller/hydrotester equipment (and other equipment as necessary), infrastructure, process innovation and cost savings to maintain and improve the profitability of Westlake Pipe and Fittings.
- Application of sound engineering disciplines to the manufacture of PVC Pipe and Fittings.
- Provide technical and engineering support to the Westlake Pipe and Fittings network primarily focused on Beller & Hydrotester operations for safety improvements, capacity expansion, equipment/process/product upgrades, cost reductions, profit improvements, and general facilities maintenance.
- Maintain Belling and Hydrotesting Machines in good working order to produce quality PVC pipe.
- Provide redesign, fabrication and upgrades to equipment as required.
- Provide training on Belling and Hydrotesting machine operations and troubleshooting techniques.
- Complete analysis and troubleshoot to reduce scrap issues related to Belling and Hydrotesting functions.
- Work with the manufacturing plants developing and executing the CapEx Plan.
- Work on continuous improvement projects to increase output, reduce scrap and increase machine uptime and availability.
- Assist with maintaining other areas of the PVC pipe manufacturing process as necessary.
- Provide on-site and/or remote support to other Westlake Pipe and Fittings plants regarding belling and hydrotesting equipment and processes.
- Work on projects to deliver expected outcomes on time and on-budget.
- Redesign inefficient operations or equipment delivering improved performance.
- Work on vendor relationships to ensure value of design and delivery.
- Support the engineering planning process providing project execution efficiency.
- Maintain and upgrade facilities securing continued operations.
- Reconfigure plants and layouts maximizing current footprint efficiencies.
- Design capacity expansion plans and execute projects advancing system capabilities.
- Provide on-site and/or remote support to Westlake Pipe and Fittings plants regarding belling and hydrotesting equipment and processes.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience with design, assembly, fabrication and training Belltech Bellers.
- Up to 50% domestic travel required.
