Responsible for credit portfolio monitoring, loan maintenance, preparing credit authorizations and assisting commercial lenders with existing client relationships and business development. Manages an assigned portfolio of credits, anticipating new opportunities, upcoming maturities, periodic reviews, and potential problems.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports commercial lenders in related portfolio management activities, whether related to credit, depository, or other banking services.
  • Manage and assist with all quarterly quality control reports, internal audit, external audits, and exams as needed.
  • Responsible for the ongoing management of the portfolio, including developing a relationship with each client relationship.
  • Manages the collection of required financial statements, etc. for loans within respective portfolio.
  • Assist data gathering for HMDA and CRA and assist with all Reg. B policies and adverse action procedures.
  • Spreads and/or analyzes financial statements and tax returns of potential and existing customers using appropriate tools and credit criteria.
  • Prepares and/or oversees the preparation of credit authorizations, supporting documents and loan information sheets for new and existing accounts. Oversee preparation of collateral and loan documentation.
  • Work with commercial lenders in monitoring performance of individual credit relationships to identify risk and minimize potential losses. Recommends approval and/or changes in new or existing credit facilities.
  • May Assist commercial lenders with business development call preparation.
  • Performs annual term loan reviews and semi-annual reviews on large credits.
  • Actively participates in Bank related and community volunteer events as well as business development related activities.
  • Monitors compliance with loan agreement covenants.
  • Maintain service level expectations as defined by the bank.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with Bank policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Regular, on-site attendance during standard business hours is required to perform the duties of this position.

  • Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of CCB.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self-governance, courtesy, and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers (all organization personnel).
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.
  • Represent in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs.

About You

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lending, banking, finance or related experience.
  • Experience in managing a large portfolio and large individual credits particularly with construction and development loans
  • Familiar with development loan reports and including progress and loan status report
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of the commercial lending process and possess the skills and abilities to take a credit request from application to close.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to maintain a heavy volume of correspondence, personal contact, and telephone communication.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Moody's Financial Analyst and/or similar credit analysis software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. We offer an extensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
