Job Summary Manages a portfolio of joint facility agreements, including negotiations, drafting and management of assets and services shared with foreign railroads in support of business growth and field operations. Conducts research to properly advise leadership, field operations and business partners on matters associated with related documents. Manage complex arrangements and major projects with other railroads in the portfolio. Supports and implements strategic decisions related to joint facilities and their impact on CSX Transportation's (CSXT) physical rail network, foreign railroad relationships and commercial competitiveness.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
Manages portfolio of joint facility agreements to optimize enforcement and execution for operations, prioritizing efforts to maximize value and mitigate risk Support strategic initiatives to drive field alignment including negotiating new agreements and or supplements to existing agreements that reflect operating and/or commercial requirements and optimal asset utilization Manages relationships with foreign railroads to resolve contractual disputes and implement strategic initiatives for network including Short Line Railroad support Analysis of long-term Freight Operating Agreements for network impacts and value creation for CSX Support business partners with inquires that require joint facilities research. Relationships include operations, service design, real property, commercial, finance, labor and law to provide contractual advice, advance initiatives or resolve disputes involving joint facility agreements Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Qualifications - External Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree 5 or more years of experience in Operations, Transportation, Finance/Accounting, Law, Business Administration or other related field of study
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate Degree 7 or more years of experience in Operations, Transportation, Finance/Accounting, Law, Business Administration or other related field of study Experience with Joint Facility Agreements
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of Freight Operations Legal Research and Drafting Skills Effective Oral and Written Communications skills for interaction with all levels of management, including senior leadership Intermediate Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Analytical, Negotiation and Strategic Skills Project Management Skills Build Partnerships and alignment with internal and external business partners Action oriented and self-motivated; ability to develop long and short term strategic initiatives aligned with and driving broader corporate and operational goals Knowledge of CSX network systems
