Location: Mt. Sterling, IL
Department: Automation Maintenance
Reports To: Equipment & Automation Supervisor
Wage Range: $34.35 to $43.82 per hour (includes nightshift differential)

As an Automation Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our highly automated distribution operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. From troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems to working with PLC-controlled equipment, you'll be at the center of maintaining and improving the technology that powers our business.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with advanced systems, and making a real impact on day-to-day operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated equipment and systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently
  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment issues to minimize downtime and quickly restore performance
  • Work with a variety of equipment including conveyors, pallet handling systems, and other automated material handling technology
  • Support equipment installations, adjustments, and system improvements in partnership with operations and maintenance teams
  • Track and document maintenance work and equipment history using internal systems
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and help implement solutions that increase efficiency and reliability


YOU MUST HAVE



  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree
  • Valid driver's license
  • Sufficient vision and hearing necessary to perform duties safely
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Experience in industrial maintenance or a similar technical field


YOU MAY ALSO HAVE



  • Associate degree, electrician's certificate or military equivalent
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • PLC (Allen-Bradley) troubleshooting experience
  • Prior experience working with automated systems
  • Safety training and/or certification



ROLE SPECIFICS
* Schedule: Full-time, Sunday-Wednesday, 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM
* Work environment includes a range of temperatures (approximately -5F to 95F) depending on the area of the facility
* Occasional work at heights in support of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
* Flexibility to support business needs, including occasional overtime or on-call support
