Job Description




As a Security Officer - Dispatch Console in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Dispatch Officer at a financial institution location, you will monitor alarm activity and access control systems, coordinate responses to security-related incidents, and maintain clear radio and phone communications with on-site teams. You will document events, support routine checks, and deliver a customer-focused experience for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and other systems; dispatch officers and/or notify appropriate responders based on site protocols.
  • Receive calls and radio traffic, prioritize requests for assistance, and coordinate communications during incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, including incident documentation, dispatch activity, and shift pass-down information.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns per site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years' law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
