Reporting to the CEO for a leading services company that offers expert independent consulting solutions to utilities and associated organizations throughout the United States, including utility metering services, vegetation management, environmental consulting, arborist training, and customized safety courses, as just some of their services. The Senior Director of IT is a well rounded, hands on IT leader responsible for the strategy, implementation, integration, and ongoing optimization of the Company's core business applications and enterprise systems. This includes ERP (Finance, HCM), CRM, Operational Systems, APIs, web services, workflow automation, and emerging AI enabled capabilities. The Director ensures that these systems are dependable, scalable, secure, and continuously improved to meet evolving business needs.

This role oversees the IT Business Analysts, Project Managers, Technical Engineers, and Developers who support and enhance enterprise applications. The Director partners closely with executive leadership and business unit heads to translate operational needs into system requirements, prioritize enhancements, and deliver solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, and decision making across the organization.

The Director serves as the primary steward of enterprise applications, ensuring strong governance, effective integration, and high user adoption. They bring a blend of technical depth, functional understanding, and process improvement mindset to drive measurable business value from the Company's software investments.

The Director will have about 3 direct reports and a total team of 7 comprising of Business Analysis Leads / Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Architect / Developers and Data / AI Engineers. The Director will also work closely in a matrix manner with the infrastructure (Systems Administration & Help Desk) and cybersecurity teams in delivering timely and effective services, support and championing the digital transformation of ACRT.

What You'll Do

Enterprise Applications Strategy & Optimization

  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of all enterprise applications, including ERP (Finance, HCM), CRM, HRIS, and related business systems.
  • Optimize system configuration, integrations, workflows, and data structures to maximize ROI and improve operational performance.
  • Ensure enterprise platforms are aligned with business needs, scalable for growth, and continuously improved through best practice implementation.

Business Analysis, Requirements & Delivery

  • Lead a structured intake, prioritization, and delivery process for system enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Provide a clear framework for Business Analysts to engage stakeholders, document requirements, and translate business needs into actionable technical plans.
  • Ensure projects are well scoped, resourced, and executed with effective communication and change management practices.

Systems Integration & Architecture

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of integrations across ERP, CRM, operational and field systems, APIs, and web services.
  • Ensure data flows are accurate, secure, and efficient, enabling seamless cross functional operations and reporting.
  • Guide technical engineers and developers in building modern, maintainable, and well documented solutions.

AI & Data Enabled Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, data, and advanced analytics to streamline workflows and enhance decision making.
  • Establish governance frameworks and standards for responsible and sustainable Data, Analytics & AI adoption across the enterprise.
  • Partner with business units to evaluate use cases and deliver practical, value driven AI solutions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Technical Engineers, and Developers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, continuous learning, and hands on problem solving.
  • Build team capabilities in enterprise systems, integrations, automation, and emerging AI technologies.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Oversee relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and consultants.
  • Lead RFP processes, vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and ongoing performance management.
  • Ensure external partners deliver high quality work aligned with system standards and business objectives

Operational Excellence & Support

  • Ensure enterprise applications are stable, secure, and well supported through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure systems are compliant, resilient, and aligned with cybersecurity standards.
  • Drive improvements in application support processes, documentation, and user enablement

Must haves:

Education:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field

Experience:

  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing IT teams and crossfunctional technology initiatives.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise applications systems analysis, development, integration and business systems optimization.
  • Proven success optimizing ERP (Finance, HCM), CRM, and / or similar operational and enterprise platforms for business value and transformation.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives using Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills with a history of delivering complex system enhancements.
  • Strong data, analytics and business intelligence (BI) skills and history of leveraging data to enable and drive decisions across the enterprise.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies (machine learning, NLP, RPA) and practical implementation approaches.
  • Understanding of governance, system security, and compliance considerations.
  • Experience with RFPs, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and partner management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor technical and functional team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or MBA in Technology, Information Systems, or AI/Machine Learning.
  • Experienced with the likes of Workday and HubSpot, ERP and CRM systems
  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Certified Business Analysis Professional, Microsoft Copilot, Prompt Engineering, Microsoft Power Apps Etc.

Where We Work

At ACRT Services we prefer in-person employee interaction and we rely on collaboration among groups to be successful and agile, which means we expect work in the office to continue as an important part of our company culture and a key to employee success. This position is a remote role, but will be required to come to Stow, OH office as needed.

Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office and at home - a dedicated space at home to work is also required. Uninterrupted home-based internet is a must in your home to attend and host video calls, along with a minimum bandwidth speed of 20 mbps. If you do not have an in-home office space or cannot meet the internet needs, an office space will be provided for you in the company's Stow, Ohio office.
