JOB SUMMARY

Bussers assist the wait staff and bartenders at food & beverage venues by cleaning tables, taking plates, utensils and drinkware to the kitchen to be washed, making sure diners' water glasses are full, and reset tables for the next service. Bussers might help servers bring food out to a table, restock utensils, napkins and other dining room needs. Bussers are not the front line of food service, but customer attentiveness and a neat appearance are still necessary. Bussers allow servers to focus on the diners and make sure that food and drinks come out in a speedy manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently in accordance with service standards
  • Maintain dining room cleanliness, including floors, chairs, and service stations
  • Clear used plates and assist guests as needed to enhance dining experience
  • Ensure tables are properly set with silverware and napkins for the next guest
  • Transport dishes, glassware, and utensils to dishwashing areas safely and efficiently
  • Maintain organization and stock levels at bussing stations
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Support overall team productivity by anticipating service needs
  • Other duties assigned


KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
