Position: Director, Interim Housing
Report to: Senior Director, Kensington
Oversee: Program Managers
Location: Kensington Campus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Status: Full-Time, Exempt, Management

Job Summary:


* Collaborate with Senior Director to provide leadership and management of the project
* Oversee and manage the completion of all contractual deliverables, ensuring they are met, if not exceeded, through close oversight of program staff and their wor,k and ensuring compliance with documentation standards
* Manage Program Managers and provide guidance and support to all team members
* Provide crisis intervention for clients when necessary, and ensure timely resolution of client complaints
* Work with all department managers and the Senior Director to ensure that the physical site is well-maintained and safe
* Cultivate a healthy, supportive team environment that allows all team members to thrive
* Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility for the site and lead by example
* Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients using a client-centered approach that includes motivational interviewing and coach staff to do the same
* Champion harm reduction and trauma-informed care
* Provide on-call coverage for emergencies, when needed
* Assist with preparing data for reports to funders, and track other data as needed
* Ensure implementation of agency policies and procedures
* Facilitate individual and group meetings as needed/assigned
* Provide oversight of the daily operations of shelter and assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems necessary to maintain high-quality services and to ensure adequate outcomes
* Lead projects as assigned and work independently to ensure completion
* Communicate effectively, and in a timely manner, with management, peers, collaborators, and clients
* Collaborate with other agency programs to provide greater support and assistance to clients
* Maintain client confidentiality at all times, while following agency, state, and HIPAA laws
* Ensure that the site provides a robust enrichment program for clients
* Assist with the budget, procurement, and ordering and stocking of supplies, according to site needs
* Create and coordinate staff schedules based on site needs.
* Other duties as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage direct reports (Senior Program Manager, Program Managers) and provide guidance and support to all team members


* Provide crisis intervention for clients when necessary, and ensure timely resolution of client complaints


* Work with the Senior Director, Kensington to ensure that the physical site is well-maintained and safe


* Cultivate a healthy, supportive team environment that allows all team members to thrive


* Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility for the site and lead by example

Qualifications:


* Master's degree in a relevant field strongly preferred, but not required*


* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required*


* Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience required*


* Minimum of two (2) year experience in case management strongly preferred*


* Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by the population served*


* Strong computer skills: all Microsoft Office programs*


* Experience in interim housing project management strongly preferred*


* Skilled in non-violent crisis intervention*


* Ability to be on-call*


* Skilled in data collection and electronic databases; experience with HMIS strongly preferred


* Ability to self-motivate and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision*


* Critical thinking skills necessary


* Strong interpersonal and team building skills to promote collaboration*


* Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, teambuilding and computer skills*


* Ability to effectively lead a diverse team of case managers, attendants, and managers
Understand and infuse Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care philosophies within a Housing First methodology throughout the Interim Housing site to ensure that interim housing participants are both supported and successful in ending their homelessness by securing permanent housing.


Preferred Qualifications:


* Master's degree in relevant field strongly preferred, but not required*



Work Environment:


1. Combination of field and office environment


2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.


3. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites


4. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments


5. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor


6. May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
