YOU

The Assistant Controller directs activities of product costing, product manufacturing analysis, inventory valuation and capital expenditure requests. Performs various monthly closing activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, internal financial reporting, and financial analysis.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Develop, review and provide product costing information to management; estimates of new or proposed product/service costs; develop and maintain standard costs of all inventory types. Provide management reports comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of goods/services. (40%)

Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation. Ensure validity and accuracy of systems through analysis. Coordination with internal and external audit for SOX compliance. (35%)

Perform month end close activities including but not limited to: journal voucher preparation, accruals and amortizations, account reconciliation, earnings analysis, financial reporting.(15%)

Develop/document policies and procedures. Represent Finance on teams designed to improve operations and reduce costs.(10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 9 years minimum Accounting Experience
  • 4 years minimum Cost Accounting Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively present information and professional opinions in verbal or written format in a clear, concise, organized and convincing manner for the intended audience.
  • Ability to work in a Microsoft software environment, experience in advanced Microsoft Excel, SAP experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively, and the ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
  • Knowledge of internal/external reporting issues and strong understanding of GAAP.

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

Travel

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Columbus, OH.

Relocation

Relocation is not available for this position.

Pay

$84,400 - $135,000 / year
