Position Summary
Investments in grid infrastructure are expected to increase over the coming years as the Company transitions to a net zero carbon future and adapts to the requirements of an increasingly dynamic grid. New programs will seek to strengthen the grid through customer focused hardening and resiliency investments while posturing the system for increased intermittent and distributed renewable generation sources. This position is responsible for leading the development of the cohesive and comprehensive linkage between Power Grid Operations ("PGO") strategy, projects and programs with state regulatory policy, treatment, and cost recovery approaches across all jurisdictions in Duke Energy with a focus on Duke Energy Florida.
Employees at this level will support State Presidents' strategic planning and cost recovery planning frameworks, including coordination with legal, regulatory, legislative and accounting teams. Employees are expected to develop and maintain good working relationships with regulatory commissions (and their staffs), intervenors, and customer groups that are critical to the Company's successes with grid investments.
This position works with minimal supervision and has increased latitude for unreviewed work. The position is responsible for coordinating PGO regulatory filings and will support the principal advocate for the Company in regulatory proceedings involving cost recovery and other regulatory issues and will support the creation of subject matter expert testimony and exhibits. This position will lead due diligence and data request activities related to regulatory proceedings that are complex in nature and often new and undefined. Has a grasp on industry issues and emerging rules and proactively addresses how these issues may affect regulatory processes and suggests proper treatment. Develops good working relationships and develops strong relationships with internal and external customer groups (including regulators). Must be able to provide guidance to others (both internal and external to the group) and delegate work as appropriate. This position must be able to listen attentively and able to communicate both orally and in written form at a subject matter expert level while presenting ideas and concepts clearly to broad groups. Leads the coordination with internal stakeholders for alignment of messaging for external forums and engagement opportunities regarding strategic grid investments and will lead efforts to develop overarching grid strategy messaging and communications for the enterprise.

Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree In addition to required degree six (6) years related work experience In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) AND 6 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration, Business, Engineering or Other Technical discipline In addition to desired degree, 8 years related work experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
With minimal supervision the candidate should have knowledge of Commission rules, governing statutes, Company tariffs, and relevant regulatory rulings of precedent. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of professional adversaries in regulatory proceedings 4+ years' experience with utility regulatory work, experience in Distribution, Transmission or Grid Modernization work groups Ability to effectively interact with all levels of Duke Energy Executive Leadership Collaborative skills, both internally and externally Working knowledge of finance/budgeting and business cases Strong PowerPoint skills
