Position Summary As an Operating Room Liaison, you'll be responsible for building important relationships between the sterile processing department, the operating room staff, and facility administrators. You'll be the go-to person, making sure everything is in place for every surgery and solving any problem that could arise, whether it's a missing or dirty instrument or a scheduling mishap. This position will be located on-site at Atrium Mercy. The hours for the position will be 11:00am to 7:30pm Monday through Friday. What you'll do as an Operating Room Liaison Keep track of case flow during the day and notify the Sterile Processing Department in advance of additional needs. Assist with the planning and coordination of instrument turnarounds and communicate with the surgical team regarding information that may affect surgery start time Review the accuracy of surgical trays and resolve any discrepancies that may arise Perform data analysis to understand trends and identify operational issues within the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department Ensure quality of care by assisting in the cleaning and maintenance of instrumentation The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Required: High School diploma or GED 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology, or Operating Room Technician role with an Associate's Degree OR 2 years of experience Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology, or Operating Room Technician role without an Associate's Degree. Certified in related field or ability to obtain certification within 12 months required. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
