Handpiece and Small Equipment Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

* Performing intermediate repairs on a partial portfolio of handpieces and/or small equipment as assigned by Supervisor

* Performs diagnosis and failure analysis using appropriate test equipment and tooling.

* Documents device evaluation, service recommendations, parts required and preventative maintenance feedback on service work orders.

* Repairs and performs quality testing of products to established specifications as required.

* May provide technical support on a limited portfolio of products as required

* Performs other tasks as assigned by lead or management.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

* Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions.

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Basic electrical / mechanical skills desired.

* Basic math and logic skills required.

* Basic computer skills and software use desired.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Willingness to learn repair of more advanced products.

• Ability to work successfully in a team environment.

• Ability to work without direct supervision.

• Upholds company policies and standards.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year professional work experience in mechanical, production or skilled trades industries and/or proficiency in relevant repair experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Additional training or experience in mechanical device repairs.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Travel - typically not required.

• Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, and operate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and lift up to 20 pounds.

• Position requires that the employee use eye protection using certain equipment/machinery.
