Receiving Tech I

A Receiving Tech I is responsible for verifying inventory, and ensuring accurate storage, and documentation of materials.

Receive and unpack materials and supplies against purchase orders (PO's) for delivery
• Prepare orders for return-to-vendor shipment
• Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
• Report damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipment
• Maintain logs of all shipments outgoing and incoming
• Prepare daily production and volume reports in order to measure productivity and prepare billing charges
• Additional duties as assigned

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• 0-1 year experience working in a shipping/receiving or professional office environment
• Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job
• Knowledge & application of domestic and international shipping carriers, customs, duties and shipping regulations as well as internal tools used (e.g., scanning equipment, hot- synching of scanners, internal database tracking system, dollies and carts)
• Excellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a must
• Ability to work overtime & meet deadlines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to lift 40 lbs
• Repetitive motion
• Reaching, pushing, pulling carts weighing up to 50lbs
• Walking, standing for extended periods of time
