EXECUTIVEDIRECTOR The U.S.-Argentina Fulbright Commission (Fulbright Argentina) invites U.S. and Argentine citizensto apply for the position of Executive Director. Founded in 1963,Fulbright Argentina is a non-profit, binational organizationwhich promotes mutual understanding between both nations throughthe academic and cultural exchange programs. The Commissionadministers a wide range of merit-based programs that connectstudents, scholars, and professionals. The Executive Director oversees an annual budget of over $2million and assets worth $4 million, and reports to abinational board, which includes Argentine and U.S. membersand representatives of the U.S. Embassy, as well as to the U.S.Department of States Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.S/he provides strategic and operational leadership for allprograms, including planning and managing budgets, developing andimplementing program operational plans; ensuring a strong pipelineof qualified candidates from Argentina and the United States;coordinating with key stakeholders to implement agreements anduphold Fulbright standards of transparency, quality, and merit; andraising funds to support the Commissions long-term sustainability,including developing and implementing a long-term, diversifiedfundraising strategy. Additionally, the Executive Directorensures that all Commission processes and policies align with U.S.Department of State requirements and Argentine legal frameworks,proactively identifying and mitigating operational, financial, andreputational risks. The Executive Director is the public face of a high-profile,prestigious binational program, requiring outstandinginterpersonal, public speaking, and diplomatic skills. The Executive Director leads, motivates, and develops ahigh-performing, team, establishing clear HR policies andpractices, promoting a culture of professionalism, integrity, andcollaboration, and addressing complex operational challenges withsound judgment. The Executive Director builds and maintainsstrategic relationships with Argentine and U.S. governmentcounterparts and universities, and partner institutions; engagesactively with other Fulbright commissions and associationsworldwide; and fosters a strong Fulbright Argentina alumni andcandidate community. This role requires the ability to leadand oversee a multicultural team that collaborates with a complexnetwork, and the ability to bring together different interests in aconstructive, solution-oriented manner. The candidate should have a minimum of ten years ofprogressively professional experience, including hands-onleadership of small and medium sized teams, experience working withor reporting to a Board of Directors or senior leadership, andproven responsibility for budgets, strategically managing andoverseeing the financial health of the organization, andfundraising. The Executive Director will have solid knowledge ofthe higher education and culture sectors, both public and private,in Argentina and experience with the U.S. higher educationsystem. A strong understanding of Argentina and Argentineinstitutions is essential. Candidates must already be legallyeligible to work in Argentina, possess an advanced degree, and havefluency in both English and Spanish.
