A Day In The Life
The Mailroom Specialist under the leadership of the Manager, Business Center will support the process to provide business essential, cost effective, and customer focused day to day services to associates and business units in the affiliated Friedkin companies. The Specialist will 1) handle inter-office, US Mail, freight shipments and deliveries in the corporate office building, 2) run errands as directed, and 3) handle special tasks and projects.

As a Mailroom Specialist you will:

  • Process outgoing US Mail, inter-office mail, and deliveries.
    • Weigh mail, determine proper postage, stamp using postage meter, and place into mail drop.
    • Sort and package all inter-company mail for delivery.
    • Code overnight express packages and parcel shipments.
    • Sort and prepare mail outs for delivery.
    • Monitor mail postage equipment; ensure that an adequate postage surplus exists.
    • File claims for lost or damaged shipments.
  • Process incoming US Mail, inter-office mail, and deliveries.
    • Sort items for delivery.
    • Scan arriving parcels into Arrival System on mail machine for accurate in-house tracking.
    • Deliver items to offices in the corporate office building.
  • Run errands as directed. Stock office supplies. Pickup and deliver information, packages, etc.
  • Handle special tasks and projects as directed.
  • Work productively; meet and exceed productivity and quality requirements.
  • Work and drive safely; comply with all safety policies and procedures especially those related to hazardous materials and proper bending and lifting.

What We Need From You

  • High School Diploma required
  • 1-3 years of mailroom, shipping & receiving, or office support experience required

Physical and Environmental RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly and repeatedly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; stoop; kneel/squat, climb, use hands and fingers, to handle, grip/squeeze and/or feel; push/pull and reach with hands and arms. The associate will be frequently required to balance; crouch, or crawl; reach over-head and taste or smell. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, night vision, and ability to adjust focus.
