Responsibilities
Lead Staff Accountant The Lead Staff Accountant is responsible for handling operational aspects ofAccounts Receivable (A/R) and Billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions. This role provides support to the Accounting Assistants who are responsible for A/R and Billing, ensuring adherence to the Company's accounting policies and procedures. Additionally, this position provides backup support to Payroll when necessary, assisting with payroll processing and related tasks as needed. Principal Accountabilities / Essential Job Functions: * Leads Accounting Assistants in daily tasks such as cash posting, direct debit, and resident charges. * Under the direction of the Director of Accounting or Senior Accountant, assigns work to Accounting Assistants responsible for A/R and Billing as needed. * Prepares and provides support to Accounting Assistants as needed in the preparation of monthly resident statements for all venues. Reviews A/R and Billing output. * Assists with training and support of Accounting Assistants responsible for A/R and Billing as needed. * Assists with month-end close, reviews and analyzes account balances. * Aids Resident Accounting Office, ensuring proper Resident Customer Services standards. * Maintains an organized filing system and accounting office. Ensures resident files are maintained in accordance with Company Policy and Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) requirements. * Maintains and processes entrance fee refunds, adhering to company policy and contractual requirements. * Assists the Director of Accounting to address resident inquiries and concerns related to A/R and Billing such as questions pertaining to statements, entrance fee refunds and concessions to ensure high levels of resident satisfaction. * Assists Director of Accounting and auditors in annual financial and actuarial audits.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: * Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting is required or equivalent experience. * Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of accounting experience to include Accounts Receivable is required. Experience with JD Edwards, Matrix and Full Count software a plus. Prior experience working with a senior population is a plus. Pay Range
USD $31.28 - USD $39.10 /Hr.
