Tria Federal (Tria) is seeking an experienced Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt leads enterprise Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies supporting the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) Improvement Sciences Directorate.

This position will join a team of administrative professionals supporting healthcare operations, healthcare policy planning and management, and integration and implementation of military healthcare-related policies and programs. This successful candidate will analyze and optimize processes, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.

This position will support process/performance improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Get Real Get Better (GRGB) methodologies and tools such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) for reducing variability and standardizing processes, DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) for new processes or enabling growth within new technologies, and RIE (Rapid Improvement Events - Pre-Event, Event, Post-Event) for eliminating waste. All projects will integrate GRGB methodologies and LSS principles will adhere to the American Society of Quality (ASQ) Black Belt Book of Knowledge.

This opportunity is hybrid (60% onsite, 40% contractor/virtual site). Onsite location is Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), Falls Church, VA 22042.

Travel (15%) may be required for projects to include site visits, training, initiative implementation, and other requirements identified.

Travel locations include:



  • Naval Medical Forces Atlantic (NMFL), Portsmouth, VA
  • Naval Medical Forces Pacific (NMFP), San Diego, CA
  • Naval Medical Forces Development Command (NMFDC), San Antonio, TX
  • NMRTC/Us in the continental United States or overseas.


Responsibilities:



  • Lead CPI strategy and execution (DMAIC, DMADV, RIE)
  • Mentor Black Belts and Green Belts
  • Conduct tollgate reviews and validate deliverables
  • Support development of CPI frameworks and governance
  • Align improvement efforts with strategic objective


Required Qualifications:



  • DoD SECRET CLEARANCE
  • Bachelor's degree such as Business Administration or Engineering
  • 5 years of relevant field experience
  • CPI/LSS experience in the health care industry
  • Practice continuously as a Master Black Belt since certification
  • Possess experience in all elements of ASQ MBB Book of Knowledge (BOK) or equivalent industry recognized quality organization (i.e., NCQA and others)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • 2 to 5 years of excellent skills in multitasking, prioritization and planning, schedule management, and the coordination of complex executive functions
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Possess strong editorial and writing skills and a keen understanding of different audiences
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Preferred experience in a military health environment and an understanding of the military organization
  • Experience supporting BUMED, DHA, or Navy Medicine
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or CPI programs
