Operates and maintains water treatment facilities (water purification (RO/DI), waste treatment (general, fluoride, and sludge waste), fume and particle scrubbers, vacuum systems, chemical supply units, pumps, and controllers) at customer site. In addition, duties include referring technical issues to the manager and assisting with resolution. Travel to support new business and support current customers water treatment.

Compensation: $26 to $32/hr

Travel: 11 to 49%



Responsibilities

Operation:

    Makes rounds of the facility to ensure equipment is in proper running order.
  • Loads and unloads chemicals.
  • Stages and Change out filters.
  • Monitors system parameters.
  • Responds/reconciles system alarms and performs system adjustment for waste processing.
  • Performs weekly and monthly safety checks.
  • Takes water samples from various facility locations and test and analyzes water qualities.

Maintenance:

  • Installs and replaces consumable parts as scheduled or as necessary.
  • Maintains maintenance logs.
  • Performs housekeeping of the work area such as hosing and removing trashes/leak pads.

Data Entry:

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
  • Enters all necessary data into computers to produce the daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Logs readings of rounds daily basis and creates the spreadsheet based on the logs.

Commissioning Technician:

  • Perform scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance of equipment and associated sub-assemblies as assigned to established guidelines.
  • Read and review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare for startup or service.
  • Build relationships with both external customers and Kurita America Sales Representatives and Supplier in a professional manner through solution-oriented communications and service, providing both on-site and telephone support.
  • Work with engineering, project management, Equipment and Engineering Production, Field Sales, and management groups to resolve identified and/or escalated problems.
  • Complete all required service reports, repair records, warranty work records and maintenance performed records in timeframes and formats determined by Kurita America.
  • Properly document, process, label, and return all defective parts resulting from service or commissioning work.

Other Miscellaneous:

  • Interface with customers as necessary.
  • Organizes the parts warehouse/storages.
  • Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
  • Reviews and advises management on overall business conditions.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisors for solution.
  • Maintains good communication with supervisors, office staff members and outside contacts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
  • Available to cover shifts as needed with proper notice.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or associate degree in a technical field or equivalent is preferred or three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to travel 11%-49% of the time in the U.S and Canada.

  • Mechanical Service experience and/or HVAC service experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read and follow SOPs, blueprints, manuals and other technical materials.

Tools & Equipment:

  • Protective equipment including face shield, safe glasses, chemical gloves, ear plugs, acid aprons, hardhats, boots, tyvex suits, etc.
  • General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, personal computer, scanner, etc.
  • Software includes the use of Windows operating system, MS Office.
  • Mechanical tools for starting up equipment.

Certificates/Licenses:

  • OSHA 10 or 30 Preferred.
