Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Production Manager to lead our high-volume digital production operation in Cranbury, NJ.This is a key leadership role in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment processing more than 500 orders per day. We are looking for a strong production leader who can drive accountability, productivity, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement across a multi-shift operation. Direct digital print experience is highly valuable, but high-volume, KPI-driven production leadership is the priority. Potential relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate. - Drive a positive safety culture with the goal of maintaining safety system compliance and zero safety incidents
- Lead a high-volume digital production operation with accountability for more than 500 orders per day and greater than 99% on-time delivery
- Manage a structured, multi-shift production environment with responsibility for staffing, workflow, productivity, quality, service levels, and daily execution
- Lead and develop production supervisors and other direct and indirect reports, with a focus on accountability, performance, coaching, and succession planning
- Own and drive key production metrics, including on-time delivery/SLA, throughput, productivity, labor utilization, quality, waste/rework, cycle time, equipment uptime, capacity planning, and load balancing
- Use production data, reporting, and performance trends to identify issues, make decisions, drive corrective action, and improve operational results
- Increase machine throughput and operator productivity to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives
- Develop, maintain, and communicate metrics related to safety, quality, production, productivity, and on-time shipping
- Partner with clients, Taylor sales groups, and other Taylor business units to support sales and operations planning, business growth, and successful implementations
- Apply continuous improvement techniques to improve safety, quality, productivity, workflow, and overall operational performance
- Ensure established Standard Operating Procedures are followed, while developing or modifying SOPs to support consistency and continuous improvement
- Apply lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, and drive sustainment across the operation
- Identify labor resource needs and apply staffing appropriately through variable assignments, shift planning, and hours to achieve production goals
- Ensure preventive maintenance activity is established, followed, and aligned with production requirements
- Build a strong employee experience while maintaining clear expectations, accountability, and consistent execution across the operation
You Must Have:
- Significant production leadership experience in a high-volume, metrics-driven manufacturing, print, transactional production, automotive supplier, or similar operational environment
- Experience leading leaders, including supervisors or other direct leadership roles, with accountability for both direct and indirect teams
- Experience managing a structured, multi-shift production operation with accountability for staffing, workflow, productivity, quality, and service levels
- Strong understanding of operational KPIs and experience using data to define, track, and improve production performance
- Demonstrated experience managing through metrics such as on-time delivery/SLA, throughput, productivity, cycle time, capacity planning, load balancing, labor utilization, quality, waste/rework, and equipment uptime
- Ability to clearly communicate team structure, production ownership, expectations, priorities, and performance results
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability, coach leaders, and create consistent execution across the production floor
- Ability to manage multiple processes, personnel needs, and competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root cause, take corrective action, and improve results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with operations, sales, client-facing teams, and cross-functional leaders
- Strong organizational, time management, and project planning skills
- Continuous improvement mindset with practical application experience
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and production reporting tools or systems
We Would Also Prefer:
- Digital print manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience in a high-volume transactional print, web-to-print, direct mail, fulfillment, packaging, or similar order-driven production environment
- Understanding of digital print workflow, prepress, finishing, and shipping processes
- Experience with ERP systems or shop floor data collection systems
- Lean manufacturing education, certification, or hands-on application experience
- Experience working within an ISO-certified environment
- Experience supporting sales and operations planning, client implementations, or cross-business-unit production work
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $104,000-$120,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
