JOB SUMMARY: The Hand Cutter 1 - Anchor Line is responsible for utilizing a variety of hand tools to layout, cut and apply a final finish to granite materials according to production ticket specifications. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Read production ticket and interpret layout, cutting and hand finishing work that needs to be completed. Use a tape measure, pattern and square to layout the finishing processes to be performed; includes, but not limited, to various anchor and attaching holes, skill saw work, cut-outs, core holes, etc. Level and wedge stone appropriately on the anchor line conveyor to ensure it does not move during cutting or finishing process. Grind and blunt the stone with a diamond die grinder. Use skill saw to apply a pitch (angle) to edges of stone when required per production ticket specifications. Utilize various power and hand tools to cut and finish the granite stone; includes, but not limited to, hi-cycle grinders, skill saw, angle and straight grinders, Hilte/hammer gun, various anchoring machines, hand coring machines, torch, etc. Use torch to apply hand thermal to granite as required. Buff, polish and clean stone when the finishing process is complete; may require the use of solvents. Check stone quality and accuracy before and after work is complete according to production standards, production ticket specifications and/or patterns. Operate various cranes and lifting devices to move stone as needed. Label all stones and scan bar code on production ticket to record work performed in JDE system. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have good hand-eye coordination. Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production. Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision. Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency. Mechanically inclined. General math skills. Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings. Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric. Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
