Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, maintains record drawings and exhibits to reflect new construction or alterations to existing conditions using project drawings, engineering sketches, verbal instructions, specifications, or other supporting documentation. Collects and analyzes field data and applies it to design drawings and exhibits. Ensures accuracy of drawings and maintains production schedules. Performs calculations and applies details appropriately. Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to communicate with team members. Contributes to the maintenance of Facilities Space Management Database and associated drawings (using ARCHIBUS).
Major Job Responsibilities
Applies comprehensive knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Utilizes applications such as AutoCAD and Revit to complete drawings to meet project deadlines
- Edits/updates a variety of Getty record drawings to reflect modifications to Getty properties resulting from new construction, alterations, and/or maintenance related projects to ensure the accuracy of records. Uses appropriate graphic and written assets from current building codes, energy codes, and requirements of regulatory agencies
- Enforces the usage of these digital library templates and assets per office digital guidelines across all projects
Assists department leadership to provision record drawings, on behalf of new projects - Reviews as-built drawings packages or modified field conditions with others (supervisors, project managers, architects, engineers, contractors and in-house Engineering staff) to verify editing requirements and inform tasks
- May serve as backup with the maintenance of ARCHIBUS data and associated drawing records
- Manages architectural and engineering site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details, assists management in preparing proposals, and generates correspondence for clients and project managers. May be asked to create floor plans from scratch
- May be asked to support department projects outside of Facilities (such as Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Risk Management, Visitor Services and Security, Legal, and others)
- Consistently applies Quality Control procedures and takes ownership of work
- Contributes to the documentation, dissemination, and monitoring of standards, best practices and industry advancements
- Updates as-built conditions, archives new construction documents, and retrieves information to provide to others upon request
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 5+ years previous experience working with AutoCAD in an architectural firm and/or CAD services provider
- Expertise with AutoCAD/BIM (Revit) is preferred
- Experience with Program Management and Project collaboration software, such as ProCore and BlueBeam
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of drafting methods, materials, techniques, instruments, and symbols used in architectural, mechanical, civil, and electrical drawings
- Ability to read and prepare maps, charts, and tracings for various purposes
- General knowledge of engineering mathematics and ability to make engineering calculations
- Ability to organize, use, and maintain original, archived documents
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its extensive application for purposes of the graphical development of information as well as design development and documentation
- Extensive knowledge of printing equipment and its application in the production of documents and large format graphics
- Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications
- Ability to learn new office support technology systems and software applications
- PeopleSoft experience preferred
- ARCHIBUS experience a plus
