The Business Analyst III provides functional and technical support for the enterprise information and transaction systems that support the business of the Global Campus. The Business Analyst III collaborates with process owners, subject matter experts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and designs solutions that meet identified business needs. The Business Analyst III also develops expertise within the enterprise systems themselves to find new ways of supporting business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works with cross-functional teams to determine feasible solutions for complex business process or system issues.
  • Prepares fit-gap analyses, functional specifications, designs prototypes, test plans or scripts and performs user acceptance testing for implementation of system modifications and upgrades.
  • Acts as a liaison between Global Campus business teams, technology teams, other administrative departments, and vendor partners to analyze procedures and processes, and identify, define, and document opportunities for improvement.
  • Documents current and future workflows, utilizing process flow diagrams, entity- relationship diagrams and flow charts.
  • Participates in aspects of project management, including requirement gathering and scope definition.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional critical thinking skills,
    specifically with the ability to identify and understand a broad spectrum of
    risk issues and their applicability to the business processes evaluated,
    develop relevant and meaningful testing approaches, and clearly articulate
    opportunities for enhancement to the business group's approach to risk
    management.
  • Ability to conduct operational audits and
    analyzes data to evaluate effectiveness and promote system enhancements.
  • Ability to prepare reports summarizing findings, alternatives, and recommendations.
  • Ability to take on new
    challenges and learn new techniques quickly when needed.
  • Ability to adapt to continuous change.
  • Knowledge of documentation, System implementations (like SIS, CRM, ERP), and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Knowledge of project outcomes (ROI, efficiency, compliance).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

AND

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years working as a BA or similar role.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
