Air Liquide Electronics U.S. LP seeks Scientist II - ICP - MS to complete the job duties below. Must put job requisition code R10088800 on resume and cover letter.
  • Develop new methods for additional laboratory capabilities.

  • Develop practical and robust new analytical methods for analysis of chemicals and material used in the Semi and associated high tech industries.

  • Investigate customer problems, eg. customer contamination issues.

  • Maintain optimum laboratory instrumentation performance and feedback into preventative maintenance Program.

  • Publish and promote new analytical capabilities, research findings in industry journals and trade magazines and present new developments at national and international conferences.

  • Support customer projects, eg. MDL Studies, continuous improvement.

  • Understand industrial processes and being business savvy.

  • Understand the immediate and strategic need of the customer for new analysis procedures.

  • Present results and customers' sites.

  • Actively seeks opportunities to grow business in techniques in which they are responsible.

  • Discuss project with client and determine their exact requirements and desired outputs and manage the project from beginning to end with minimum supervision.

  • Master new techniques (eg. become fully trained so that they can prep, analyze, process data, and send reports).

  • Assist production lab as necessary (if in a group separate from the production lab).

  • Participate in Client Task Forces.

  • Perform analysis and research.

  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis and data interpretation.

  • Prepare analysis reports and communicate with customers.

  • Train laboratory staff to ensure new method implementation.

  • Work with manager and other laboratory members to ensure smooth workflow and overall customer Satisfaction.

  • All other duties based on business needs.

  • Minimum Education: PhD in Chemistry or Similar Field.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant experience working with trace and ultratrace metals analysis using ICP-MS, hazardous chemical handling, sample preparation for complex matrices and method development for ICP-MS, statistical analysis and method uncertainty determination; handling of air/moisture sensitive compounds in a glove box, and working with compressed gases necessary for interference removal in reaction modes of multi-quadrupole ICPMS instruments.
  • Special requirements: May be required to be on-call, based on potential project needs. Required to wear PPE and cleanroom suits on a daily basis, may be required to wear PPE the entire day.
  • Travel requirements: Up to 10% of domestic travel to attend technical conferences, collaborate with internal labs and assist sales teams with customer interactions. Travel could be at various locations across the USA.
