Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Field Service Advisor / Manager is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and overseeing field maintenance and repair of construction equipment, with a strong emphasis on out-of-territory dealer communication and field service mechanic management. This role serves as the primary liaison between project teams, equipment dealers, and internal field mechanics to ensure equipment uptime, cost control, and compliance with company standards. This position is critical to keeping equipment running efficiently on remote and multi-state projects while maintaining consistent service quality across dealer territories. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Dealer & Vendor Coordination (Out-of-Territory Focus)
- Serve as the primary point of contact with equipment dealers and service providers outside the company's home territory.
- Coordinate emergency and scheduled repairs with local dealers while ensuring alignment with internal maintenance standards.
- Review and approve dealer diagnoses, estimates, and repair scopes before work authorization.
- Manage warranty claims, goodwill requests, and post-repair documentation with dealers and OEMs.
- Track service performance, response times, and costs across out-of-territory vendors.
Field Service Operations
- Dispatch and coordinate field service mechanics to jobsites based on priority, skillset, and location.
- Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OEM and company standards.
- Prioritize service calls, safety concerns, and operational impact
- Order necessary parts for repairs and ensure prompt delivery to mechanics or field service personnel.
- Use fleet management software to assign, track, and oversee work orders.
- Ensure all required information, including parts, labor, and service details, is accurately entered into HCSS Equipment360 (E360) for each work order.
Communication & Project Support
- Act as a liaison between project teams, superintendents, and equipment services.
- Provide timely updates on equipment status, downtime, and repair progress.
- Assist with equipment move planning and service readiness for new projects.
- Support after-hours and emergency service coordination as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Previous experience managing teams in the construction industry, preferably within heavy equipment or fleet operations.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Previous experience in a construction, trucking, logistics, dispatch, or shop environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management, employees, vendors, and external partners. Must clearly communicate directions and technical information.
- Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Proven ability to work onsite in a small, hands-on team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask without compromising accuracy.
- Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of Viewpoint Visa and HCSS software suite.
- Working knowledge of a Caterpillar fleet
- Familiar with heavy equipment demolition tools
- Familiar with Deep foundation materials, equipment, and tooling
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provides day-to-day leadership and direction to field mechanics and support personnel.
- Oversee performance, mentoring, and skill development to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
- Conducts training, coaching, and regular performance evaluations to promote individual growth and team effectiveness.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and developing team members; administers disciplinary action and performance management in alignment with company policies and procedures.
OTHER:
- This is a safety-sensitive role. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Requires 8 to 10-hour workdays, Monday - Friday.

Additionally, they might encounter environmental conditions and variable weather, such as rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat. Additional Job Description: Base Compensation: $86,000 - $112,000. The base salary range may vary depending on geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
