Department Summary The Community Youth Development program provides an array of services such as mentoring, youth leadership development, and after-school programs to promote protective factors in youth and prevent negative outcomes such as juvenile delinquency. The CYD- Rising Blazers Program at the University of North Texas at Dallas will provide Mental Health, Academic, and Social/ Emotional support through Community Collaborative Programming for students within the Dallas area. The Rising Blazers Programs at UNT Dallas will be integral partners with our participants, their families, local schools (public, private and charter) and our service providers to identify, advise and ultimately guide them to resolutions to the issues students which impact their Social, Emotional and/or Academic lives. The goal is to provide a Vision, Framework, and Holistic Plan for each student to attain their High School Diploma and Collegiate Degree in order to become active participants of our society. Position Overview The Community Youth Development Program Manager is a key member of the Texas Health and Family Services-sponsored Community Youth Development and will have the primary responsibility of overseeing the Community Youth Development Program. The Community Youth Development Program is a component of the state-funded CYD Program to assist low-income/first-generation, 6 to 17 year old youth of all backgrounds to engage with human flourishing through the intellectual and practical approaches to developing healthy and successful lives in academic, professional, and personal ways. The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project including planning, implementing, and developing educational curriculum for programing needs (e.g. tutoring, college readiness, and youth leadership development, mentoring, and summer programs), preparing monthly and annual institutional and state reports, and working with key personnel in the respective zip codes to identify potential students and families to participate. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
