Description
The Staff, Process Mechanical Engineering role will assist in providing the conceptual design, preliminary design, and final design for discrete process-mechanical elements for environmental infrastructure, focusing on biosolids and energy, projects during planning and design phases and assist in providing office engineering and field support during the construction phase. Within the biosolids and energy sector the role will further focus on thermal processes including drying and high-temperature technologies like incineration. The role will assist in the development and evaluation of options to select the best suitable processes, or technologies, and equipment for discrete process-mechanical elements of new, expanded, or rehabilitated environmental infrastructure facilities. The role will involve preparing calculations to size and select equipment, ductwork, piping, and piping ancillaries. Additionally, the role will assist in the coordination with architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, electrical and instrumentation and controls engineers, and building-mechanical engineers during the development of design drawings and specifications. The role will assist in guiding BIM professionals in developing 3D models to create construction contract drawings. During the construction phase of a project, the role will assist in preparing reviews for simple contractor submittals, preparing responses to simple requests for information from contractors, and assist in performing site observations to confirm adherence to construction contracts for simple discrete process-mechanical elements. Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
