The UCF College of Medicine educates and inspires individuals to be exemplary physicians and scientists, leaders in medicine, scholars in discovery, and adopters of innovative technology to improve the health and well-being of all. The College of Medicine is an LCME-accredited medical college with an annual matriculation of 120 medical students and is part of an Academic Health Sciences Center which includes multiple health affairs disciplines. The College of Medicine campus is part of a growing biomedical cluster known as "Medical City" at Lake Nona, which is dedicated to innovation in health and wellness.

The Opportunity:

The Human Resources Coordinator I serves as a key point of contact for staff and faculty, providing guidance and support for general HR inquiries. This role delivers essential transactional support to Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) across recruiting, hiring, employment and pay changes, and faculty search processes, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of records. This position also supports orientation initiatives, assists with timekeeping processes, and ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:


  • Address employee questions, resolving minor issues, and escalating complex matters to HRBPs/HR Director. Connect employees to other institutional partners when warranted. Responsible for the COMHR email account.

  • Provide transactional support to HRBPs for recruiting, hiring, managing and tracking employment changes, processing pay changes, etc. Assist HRBPs with facilitating faculty searches (i.e. scheduling meetings, posting meeting notices, campus visit coordination, etc.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both physical and electronic, and ensuring data accuracy within HR systems (i.e. Workday and DocView). Assist with annual performance appraisal documents and record keeping into Workday.

  • Support managers and employees with timekeeping processes. Send timekeeping reminders and follows up on unsubmitted/unapproved entries to ensure deadline adherence.

  • Run reports and provide follow up (e.g. on-boarding summary, overdue trainings). Provide support for new employee orientations. Maintain working knowledge of all applicable laws, policies and procedures and ensure process compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

  • Timely completion of university and college trainings and updates.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience working within higher education, with a preference for knowledge of UCF's environment.

  • 2 - 3 years of professional experience in Human Resources.

  • Proficient in utilizing Workday.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality customer service.


The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to compose business emails.

  • Successful experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and requests.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:


  • The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17.64 - $21.61. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

  • This position is located at the Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona at 6900 Lake Nona Blvd., Orlando, FL 32827.
