Hours and Pay



  • Salary: Up to 60K
  • Schedule: Full-time | 9-hour days leaving at 12 pm on Fridays
  • Employment Type: Direct Hire

Daily Responsibilities



  • Review blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine machining requirements and part dimensions
  • Select appropriate metallic and nonmetallic materials and prepare stock for machining operations
  • Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, band saws, and shapers
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble components using hand tools and machining equipment
  • Operate machinery to test performance and diagnose mechanical issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs on machine tools and equipment
  • Design and construct jigs, fixtures, and special tooling to support machining operations
  • Maintain inventory of materials and order supplies as needed
  • Document equipment usage and maintain accurate production records
  • Assist in estimating time and material requirements for machining assignments
  • Support training efforts for junior machinists or shop personnel as needed



Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience assisting or working as a machinist in a machine shop environment
  • Strong knowledge of machining methods, tools, and equipment
  • Understanding of metal properties and machining characteristics (aluminum, steel, brass, stainless steel, cast iron, etc.)
  • Experience using precision measuring tools and shop mathematics
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications
  • Hands-on machining skills and ability to set up and operate machine tools independently


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with dip braze assemblies and rotary joints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in tool fabrication and assembly work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, precision-focused manufacturing environment
