Pay Range: $110,000 - $140,000 This role has a joint responsibility for leading the Sealy Posturepedic product portfolio as well as managing the Traditional Sales Channel for the Sealy brand. The Traditional Sales Channel of the U.S. bedding industry is a highly competitive marketplace with long-standing mattress specialty, department store, and furniture store retailers and entrenched, well-established brands. The Brand Manager position is accountable for creation and implementation of strategic business plans for the Posturepedic collection under the Sealy Brand, with a mission to ensure that new and existing products and programs enhance the collection and solidify its position in the U.S. bedding market. Driving profitable growth for Sealy Posturepedic in this environment is the key to unlocking overall growth for the brand. Success in this role requires focus and achievement in four key areas: What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities): Insights and Strategy
- Leverage consumer insights and data to sell and drive strategic initiatives.
- Build and maintain category expertise (consumer, competitor, and customer).
- Define winning marketing initiatives, product projects, and technology exploration.
- Identify opportunities for product diversification and channel expansion.
- Translating business objectives into coordinated plans to deliver long-term growth.
Business and Product Management
- Manage P&L - support Financial Planning & Analysis, Supply Chain and Operations.
- Understand gaps in sales/profit performance. Implement corrective action plans.
- Make recommendations for how to win via product, price, promotion, and distribution.
- Develop business cases for new products, or other growth or efficiency activities.
- Use collaboration and facilitation skills to build productive internal relationships.
- Effectively partner with the Brand Activation team on ongoing marketing activation tactics, aligning back to the core product and business strategies.
Innovation and Product Development
- Own the Posturepedic innovation pipeline (concepts, prototyping, commercialization).
- Manage health of the funnel relative to product roadmap and innovation priorities.
- Lead Sales (and other) advisory groups. Challenge convention and champion change
- when necessary to improve product quality, product costs, and marketplace potential.
- Serves as Brand Management lead on new product core teams partnering heavily with
- product development and operations to successfully design and produce winning products on time, on cost, and on quality.
- Partner with Brand Activation and Product Communication teams to translate insights,
- features, and benefits in compelling marketing and advertising.
Channel and Customer Support
- Become the lead point of contact with the TSI Sales team for the Traditional Sales channel.
- Partner with retail marketing and/or sales operations on brand-centric initiatives to profitably grow advertising share of voice and sales market share.
- Represent the brand/products in customer/channel meetings with top retailers.
- Understand channel/customer P&L, sales processes, strengths, and opportunities.
