Licensed Practical Nurse - Med/Surg Unit

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care under the direction of and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, in accordance with the NYS Practice Act, hospital policies, and the standards set forth by Nursing Services and the Nurse Practice Council.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
2. Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State
3. Previous experience preferred
4. Excellent verbal and written communication sills
5. Ability to work with other healthcare team members
6. Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
