Summary:

The Subject Matter Expert III will apply expert knowledge and experience to evaluate current operational state and effectiveness.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as an expert within area of expertise.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to design, develop, and implement solutions to meet required objectives.
  • Develop strategic plans for the development and implementation of solutions to meet required objectives independently or in conjunction with senior support.
  • Maintain consistent strategic management and planning with all stakeholders.
  • Provide consultation, recommendations and action plans to meet required objectives independently or in conjunction with senior support.
  • Assess complex problems and barriers to improvement and recommend and assist in implementation of problem resolution strategies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant state of the art within area of expertise.
  • Participate in business development activities, including identification of external funding sources and authoring proposals to secure external funding to meet required objectives.
  • Perform or assist with performing technical tasks related to project objectives.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced support.
  • Conduct scientific review and analysis of vaccine safety studies for ages 18 and under, including study designs, protocols, analytic approaches, and interpretation of findings to ensure scientific rigor and alignment with CDC standards.
  • Engage in vaccine and disease research activities for ages 18 and under, including contributing to study design, data interpretation, and development of scientific products such as manuscripts, reports, and briefing materials.
  • Provide analytical and scientific support for Executive Advisory, Science, and Operations (EASO) unit research initiatives, including assisting with planning, development, and execution of research activities for ages 18 and under.
  • Provide technical and analytical support services to assist in the development, documentation, and scientific review of vaccine safety research protocols for ages 18 and under, including protocols related to CDC vaccine safety studies and Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) activities.
  • Contribute to scientific publications through drafting, co authoring, and reviewing manuscripts and related materials to support dissemination of vaccine safety findings for ages 18 and under.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure scientific quality, accuracy, and consistency across research protocols, study documentation, and other scientific materials for ages 18 and under.
  • Translate complex scientific information into clear, concise materials for internal and external audiences, supporting informed decision making and public health communication related to ages 18 and under.

Qualifications

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree or Post graduate Doctoral Degree.
    • B.S. with 10-years of relevant experience, M.S. with 7-years of relevant experience or Ph.D with 5-years of relevant experience.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000.
