Description

Purpose of the Business Development Officer position:

This position will originate new small and medium size business deposit relationships through business development prospecting activities. Primary focus will include acquiring new customers, building, maintaining strong relationships, and promoting a range of financial products and services to deepen customer relationships while driving revenue growth. The Business Development Officer is also responsible for assisting Lenders with business deposit relationships, services, and referrals.

This position requires a proactive and strategic approach to business development and prospecting sales acumen, as well as excellent communication, time management, an understanding of cash management products and services, and interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels in business, internally and externally with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal partners.

What you will be doing in the Business Development Officer position:



  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the bank's deposit base by maintaining an active prospect pipeline, attending networking opportunities, develop COI's as well as inside and outside sales calling activities.
  • Actively promote all bank product and services to new and existing customers by providing comprehensive and customized business banking solutions tailored to the financial needs of new and existing business customers.
  • Build collaborative relationships with partners across lines of business to connect customers with full banking service to include Business and Commercial Real Estate Lenders to ensure seamless new customer onboarding.
  • Achieve business development sales goals including new account acquisition, sales of cash management products, and sales referrals.
  • Utilize all business sales tools and systems, including existing CRM.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and competitive activities.
  • Supports Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) through business development efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Certifications, Licenses, Registration

Banker certification and completion of Business development training within 6 months of hire date.

Experience

Required

5 years of growing a business portfolio including business prospecting, inside sales calls, use of CRM, and complete banking product and services knowledge.

Preferred

Have an established network in the local market.

Education

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

Bachelors Degree in Business

Working conditions

Individual must be flexible in work schedule and have the ability to travel between office locations, and customer locations if warranted and provide proof of insurance. A valid driver's license is required. Driving record must be in accordance with WSB's Vehicle Safety Policy.
