What to Expect
Tesla has an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven Structural Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team at our Fremont, CA factory. This individual will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of structural calculations for submission to the AHJ
  • Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals
  • Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement
  • Develop and mentor less experienced engineering staff
  • Present 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
  • Complete field work independently or with the design team
  • Manage structural projects from estimating through construction
  • Strong knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards
  • Complete design and drawings within short timelines on multiple overlapping project scopes

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in structural design of commercial, industrial, or oil & gas industries
  • Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) with active NCEES record and ability to acquire PE license in CA
  • Familiarity with Revit Structural and experienced with Navisworks
  • Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture
  • Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines
  • Experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure, industrial, or operational facilities (semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.)
  • Experience working in heigh seismic environment
  • Proficient with Revit Structural
  • Registered and in good standing as a Registered Professional Structural Engineer (SE) with active NCEES record and ability to acquire SE license in CA

    Expected Compensation
    $88,000 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
