Summary: Raw Multivac Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, or tending to the Multivac. Responsible for accurately adjusting settings on Multivac as needed for product run. Provides day-to-day assistance to Supervisor/Management in meeting production and quality requirements. Responsible for understanding Daily's GMP's and safety policies. Additionally, rotates job stations within Raw department.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Set up, operate, or tend to Multivac
  • Equipment set up, Pre-Operational Checklist, select programs, adjust settings, and breakdown, as needed
  • Accurately adjusts settings as needed for product run
  • Gathers necessary supplies and tools for Multivac operation
  • Maintains machines at centerline settings and completes all CIL (clean, inspect, and lube) tasks.
  • Understand bacon specification requirements to ensure quality
  • Work at a pace consistent with line speeds
  • Keep accurate records as needed
  • Maintain accurate counts
  • Minimize scrap at all times
  • Follow procedures outlined by Department Supervisor/Department Lead
  • Follow Daily's attendance and punctuality rules
  • Follow Daily's Good Manufacturing Processes
  • Follow Daily's Safety guidelines as outlined in Safety Handbook
  • Rotates job stations within Precook Department
  • May be required to assist in other areas based on business need
  • Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Daily's business objectives

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Understand proper raw processing procedures and packaging of product.
  • Must have superior attendance record



LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to speak, read, and write basic English to interact with equipment screens, complete reports, and communicate via radio as needed.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:



  • Basic math skills including ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Capability of working with and calculating percentages


REASONING ABILITY:



  • Must consistently follow company rules and procedures and ensure consistency with product specifications
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred
  • Able to adhere to specifications


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Performs a variety of tasks that require manual material handling and the use of hand tools, knives, hooks, machinery, and equipment
  • Must be willing and able to handle raw and cooked product
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or push up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing and walking for up to 10 hours a day on concrete and wet surfaces
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Temperature variations - average of 40 degrees. Exposure to noise above 85 dB (hearing protection required).


WORK SCHEDULE:



  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work as scheduled.
