In this role as an Aerospace Transparencies - Senior Quality Engineer you will be a senior technical contributor responsible for preventive quality engineering, systemic problem solving, and customer quality execution across the product lifecycle. In this role you will lead complex quality investigations, drive robust corrective actions, and partners cross-functionally to ensure manufacturing and support processes are capable, compliant, and continually improving. You will operate with significant autonomy and be accountable for technical quality leadership, customer issue resolution, and systemic improvement. Your focus in this role will be on root cause elimination, data-driven decision-making, and sustained process capability rather than inspection or administrative compliance.

This position is based fully onsite in our Huntsville, AL. facility. You will report to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary quality engineering lead for customer quality issues, complaints, and audits.
  • Leads cross-functional root cause investigations and drives containment, corrective, and preventive actions using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D).
  • Ensures corrective actions address true systemic and process causes, verify effectiveness, and embeds lessons learned into standard work.
  • Applies advanced quality tools (SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, MSA) and analyzes quality data to identify trends and risks.
  • Partners across functions implement sustainable process improvements and represent quality requirements in design, change, and failure reviews.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and data-driven insights to support leadership decision-making and customer communication.
  • Acts as a senior technical influencer, mentoring quality engineers and driving outcomes through expertise rather than authority.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience required.
  • Eight (8) or more years of aerospace or similar environmental quality engineering experience required.
  • Six Sigma, CQE, or similar certifications are preferred.
