Title: Senior Staff AccountantCompany:Defense IndustryCompensation:$45-50/hr (DOE)Job Summary The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key execution-focused role within the accounting function, supporting high-volume transactional activity across accounts payable and credit card processing at the project level. This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is highly organized, and takes ownership of detailed, deadline-driven work with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions, averaging 200+ invoices per month at the project level Manage, code, and reconcile 800+ monthly credit card transactions with timely and accurate posting Perform daily reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy and completeness Ensure proper expense classification and alignment with projects and cost centers Support accruals and assist with month-end close from a transactional and operational standpoint Maintain a high level of organization and accuracy in a detail-intensive, high-throughput environment Identify opportunities to clean up, streamline, and improve existing accounts payable and expense workflows Apply working knowledge of Work in Progress (WIP) and cost accounting standards in daily processing Qualifications Extensive experience handling high-volume invoice processing Proven success working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments Strong accounts payable background with the ability to contribute immediately Comfortable asking questions and seeking clarity as needed Self-sufficient and able to operate with little to no hand-holding Highly detail-oriented, organized, and reliable when managing repetitive, high-volume tasks Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
