DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee the ordering, receiving, and inventory control of food items. You will make certain that the food items arrive in compliance with quality standards and specifications. This involves inspecting, weighing, checking, and signing for the receipt of perishable deliveries. You will be responsible for preparing menus and determining the amounts of food needed to ensure proper portioning, plating, and handling at the point of service. This requires attention to quality, portion size, accuracy, food handling techniques, safety, and time-efficient practices. You will supervise and coordinate all activities related to food production, preparation, and delivery, ensuring efficient staffing and guaranteeing that food is served at the proper temperatures and of consistent quality. Additionally, you will conduct and coordinate staff training, including orientation, in-service training, and on-the-job instruction, to enhance service quality and skill development.

- Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 1st shift (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of supervisory experience involving the preparation of special diet menus in a school, hospital, nursing home or closely related institutional food service operation and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in foods, nutrition, dietetics, food service, institutional management or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of supervisory experience involving the preparation of special diet menus in a school, hospital, nursing home or closely related institutional food service operation.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
