Manager, Government Risk Consulting
(Capital Construction Audit Focus) Employment Type: FullTime Location: Florida (Hybrid - Tampa preferred; flexibility across FL) Travel: Approximately 15% (primarily East Coast client sites) Work Model: 2-3 days per week in the office
Position Overview
We are seeking a Manager, Government Risk Consulting with deep experience in capital construction audits and the capital project lifecycle. This role focuses on advising government and publicsector clients on how largescale, commercial capital construction projects are planned, managed, governed, and controlled. The ideal candidate is a confident, autonomous professional with the ability to lead client engagements endtoend, manage and develop teams, support business development efforts, and serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership.

- Capital construction projects (commercial; residential experience is not applicable)
- Capital project lifecycle oversight
- Construction audit, internal audit, and controls assessments
- Government and publicsector risk consulting
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Project Leadership
- Serve as the primary face of engagements, managing client relationships and expectations
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery for capital construction and internal audit engagements
- Evaluate how government agencies or organizations manage new building and infrastructure projects
- Advise clients on best practices, meeting them at their current maturity level
- Manage multiple concurrent client projects with defined milestones and deliverables
Capital Construction & Audit Execution
- Perform and oversee capital construction audits, process reviews, and control assessments
- Conduct risk assessment interviews and update risk models
- Test the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
- Draft and review:
- Test plans
- Work programs
- Process narratives and flowcharts
- Initial client reports
- Identify risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities across the capital lifecycle
Team Management & Talent Development
- Manage and mentor teams of consultants and senior consultants
- Ensure staff are trained, engaged, and developed through active coaching
- Review team deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and quality
- Foster a collaborative, highperformance team environment
- Provide and receive candid feedback to support growth
Business Development & Growth
- Participate in proposal responses and efforts to secure new work
- Communicate with prospects to define project scopes, timelines, and budgets
- Contribute to proposal writing and client presentations
- Build and maintain internal and external professional networks
- Participate in relevant government and industry associations
- Assist with developing and delivering thought leadership materials
Financial & Engagement Management
- Manage engagement budgets and review estimates and variances
- Provide status reporting and progress updates for client delivery
- Balance quality, efficiency, and client expectations across engagements
Contributions to Firm Culture

Required Qualifications
Experience
- 6-7+ years of experience (ideal7-9 years) in:
- Capital construction audit
- Internal audit
- Risk consulting or related control assessment roles
- Proven experience leading projectbased engagements with defined timelines
- Experience in commercial capital construction environments
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline
- One or more professional certifications required formanagementlevel roles, such as:
- CPA
- CIA
- PMP or other project management certifications
